Zayn Malik: 'Twitter is too addictive'

One Direction star Zayn Malik has described Twitter as 'too addictive.'

The 19-year-old recently quit the social networking site after becoming tired of receiving abusive messages only to return days later, claiming he didn’t want to disappoint fans.

Now the 'One Thing' singer, who alongside the rest of the boyband picked up three gongs at Thursday’s MTV Video Music Awards, has told Teen Now that he couldn’t live without his smartphone if he was stuck on a desert island:

“I do get carried away with trying to answer people - Twitter is too addictive.

"I'd take food, a good supply of water and maybe a decent phone that could get me on Twitter, then being stuck on the island I'd have enough time to answer everyone who Tweets me!"
