The Wanted and One Direction praise Andy Murray's Grand Slam tennis victory

Music stars such as The Wanted and One Direction have been taking to Twitter to praise Andy Murray's US Open victory last night (September 10).

The Scottish tennis player became the first Brit in 76 years to win a Grand Slam title after he beat Novak Djokovic in a five set epic in New York.

One Direction star Niall Horan tweeted during the game that it was an "unbelievable" battle of tennis skill, saying:

"I've never seen a game of tennis like this in my life! Unbelievable! Murray wrap it up dude…"

The Wanted's Max George meanwhile said: "Andy Murray… Well done!!!"

Fellow Scot Calvin Harris exhibited some heart thumping patriotism, tweeting: "ANDY MURRAY YOU ABSOLUTE SCOTTISH HERO #SCOTTISH #TENNIS #LEGEND."
