Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh admits nerves over Strictly Come Dancing

Kimberley Walsh has revealed that she is somewhat scared by the prospect of starring in Strictly Come Dancing.

The Girls Aloud singer is one of fourteen contestants due to take part on this year's series of the reality dancing show.

Speaking at the launch of the show, Walsh admitted that because she is used to dancing in groups, the prospect of going ballroom is a "new challenge". She said:

"I have danced before but not at that level, and not with one other person. I'm not used to being exposed like that - I usually have the girls with me whenever I've danced before and I've never done ballroom before so this is a new challenge."

Walsh continued: "I'm going to push myself, and I think the judges are going to be hard on me especially on the technical side, so I don't think my past will make it any easier."

Other contestants on this year's series include Westlife's Nicky Byrne and Mick Jagger's ex-wife Jerry Hall.
