JLo becomes part-owner of Hispanic TV channel 'Nuvo'

Singer, actress and former American Idol panelist Jennifer Lopez has signed a deal with Nuvo TV, which is an English-language cable network for Latino viewers.

The superstar and businesswoman has created a marketing and programming partnership with the channel and the new venture has made her a part-owner of it.

JLo is set to produce programming for Nuvo through her Nuyorican Productions banner and she will also occasionally appear on-screen. She is confirmed to release a documentary early next year about her current world tour through the channel.

Speaking about the new partnership, Lopez explained that making television accessible for a "bicultural audience" is something that's very important to her: "I want to move it into great programming for a bicultural audience."

She added that despite growing up in a Spanish-speaking household, she was raised to speak English and this developed her interest in such channels: "Growing up in the Bronx as a little Puerto Rican girl watching TV and not having a lot to identify with. West Side Story was really my favorite thing because it had Puerto Ricans in it."
