Ellie Goulding confirms UK headlining tour

British songstress Ellie Goulding has announced details of a UK headlining tour that will take place later this year.

She will kick off the run of dates, which are in support of her forthcoming new album 'Halcyon', on December 7 in Bristol before bringing the tour to a close in Southampton on December 18.

Writing on her official Twitter page earlier today (September 13), she explained: "Announcing my first tour makes me exceedingly happy even being up at 7am"

Goulding is set to release her brand new single, 'Anything Could Happen', on September 30 and recently revealed that she hopes the track might inspire people to live in the moment:

"It's called 'Anything Could Happen', [so] I'm hoping it will make people go out and propose to their girlfriends or go on that holiday they never ended up doing. I hope it will provoke positivity, as opposed to mak[ing] people really sad."

The full list of tour dates is as follows:

December 7 - Bristol, Academy
December 8 - Liverpool, Academy
December 11 - Nottingham, Rock City
December 12 - London, Brixton Academy
