Substance abuse charity slams Gaga for promoting marijuana

After Lady Gaga was seen 'smoking marijuana' on stage during a recent concert, a London-based substance abuse charity has admitted that it's sad to see a superstar promoting substance abuse.

The pop icon was in Amsterdam on her Born This Way Ball tour when she lit up what was thought to be a joint and told the crowd that she loves the drug for its relaxing properties:

"I want you to know it has totally changed my life and I've really cut down on drinking. It has been a totally spiritual experience for me with my music."

Now, chief executive of Blenheim CDP John Jolly has spoken out against Gaga's actions and slammed her decision to paint the drug in a positive light when she has young people who look up to her as a role model:

"I think it’s always unhelpful when people in the public eye of a particular influence are seen engaging in drug use, particularly because cannabis use is a significant problem for people under 25 in the UK. The predominant drug we are dealing with in our treatment centers for people under 25 years old is cannabis so it’s particularly unhelpful when things like this happen.”
