Ed Sheeran says one of his new One Direction songs could be a single

Ed Sheeran has claimed that a new song he wrote for One Direction could be used as a single by the band.

The pop group are set to release their second album 'Take Me Home' on November 12 and Sheeran told MTV that he has penned two songs for it.

The flame-haired singer-songwriter previously wrote the song 'Moments' for the bonus edition of One Direction's 2011 debut album 'Up All Night' and he added that the new tracks will follow suit in terms of lyrical content. He said:

"The two songs that I wrote for One Direction's album are the same subject matter as the last song I wrote for the last album 'cause they're from the same batch of songs. They're both about my ex-girlfriend."

One of them is kind of a getting-back together song. One of them is an appreciation song. I can't say the titles. The song that I think will be the single - one of the singles - is kind of a very sweet song."

One Direction's lead single from 'Take Me Home' - 'Live While We're Young' - is set to be released in the UK on September 30.
