Muse admit people were doubtful of their dubstep direction

Devon rock trio Muse are set to release their new album 'The 2nd Law' on October 1 and have admitted that when people first heard that they had infused it with dubstep the reaction was less than desirable.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, frontman Matt Bellamy explained that fans were initially "skeptical" about the track 'Unsustainable', but they were keen to try something new so stuck to their guns:

"For 'Unsustainable' I wanted to write the idea electronically and then when we came to record it we did it with real, organic instruments and we got a real orchestra in."

He continued: "We were trying to see if real instruments could make a sound like electronica. A lot of people were sceptical about it but it works."

Muse will headline London's iTunes Festival on September 30 and fans will also be able to watch their performance streamed live through the month-long event's official website.
