Fashion retailer Primark to sell music

Primark are set to start stocking music in the UK.

Universal Music Group have confirmed to the BBC that they have reached a deal with the popular fashion chain to sell their acts' music in their shops.

This means that artists like Rihanna and Lady Gaga could be sold alongside the company's clothes.

Primark have said that the venture will start as a trial and that they have decided to look into selling CDs because "fashion and music have always been synonymous".

Industry giant Universal added that Primark will stock a "selection of our biggest titles".

It is not yet clear if music will be sold in all of Primark's UK branches or when the partnership will start.
