Mumford & Sons return to top of UK album chart

Mumford & Sons have returned to the top of the UK album chart with their second studio effort, ‘Babel.’

The nu-folk outfit pushed last week’s chart-topper, Muse’s ‘The 2nd Law,’ down to No.3 and overtook the midweek number one, Ellie Goulding’s ‘Halcyon,’ to reclaim pole position in its third week on the chart.

Pink’s ‘The Truth About Love’ fell to No.4, Emeli Sande’s ‘Our Version Of Events’ held firm at No.5, while there were new entries in the Top 10 for Jeff Lynne’s ‘Long Wave’ (No.7), ELO's 'The Very Best Of' (No.8) and All Time Low’s ‘Don’t Panic' (No.9).

Elsewhere, there were debuts for Tame Impala’s 'Lonerism' (No.14), KISS’s 'Monster' (No.21), Mika’s 'The Origin Of Love,' (No.24) and Barbra Streisand’s 'Release Me' (No.31).
