Lawson have compared themselves to U2 because they are ‘a real band.’

The ‘When She Was Mine’ hitmakers, who recently described The Wanted’s new album as their best yet, named the Irish rockers when asked by Bang Showbiz who they're most similar to:

Joel Peat said: ''U2. They're a proper playing band playing pop music. Even though they're rocking out and stuff, it's still pop music at the end of the day.''

Adam Pitts, whose band released new single, ‘Standing In The Dark,’ yesterday, also insisted that Lawson have been unfairly pigeonholed as a boyband:

''We're a band. We can rock out even though we play quite poppy music, but when we do a live show, it's a rock show.''
