Organisers of the 2012 American Music Awards today (October 24) confirmed new performers for the upcoming ceremony.

Rap sensation Nicki Minaj and 'Begin Again' songstress Taylor Swift have both been added to the live bill for the exciting event, which is set to take place on November 18 in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre. 

'Your Body' superstar Christina Aguilera will also be performing on the night.

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj has been nominated for an impressive 4 awards in the categories of Favourite Female Artist (pop/rock), Favourite Album (pop/rock), Favourite Artist (rap/hip-hop) and Favourite Album (rap/hip-hop), and Swift is up for Favourite Female Artist in the Country music category.

Swift's brand new record, 'Red', has made a huge impact on album charts around the world and debuted at No.1 in the UK today, and is on course to sell 1 million copies in her native U.S. by the end of its first week of release.
