Chris Brown: 'I understand that people judge me and I can't hate them for it'

R&B sensation Chris Brown has opened up about how the public perceive him now that he has rekindled his friendship with former lover Rihanna.

The 'Don't Wake Me Up' superstar told MTV, for a special called 'This Is How I Made It', that he understands how people judge him following his assault on the 'Umbrella' beauty back in 2009, but he wants to be "better as a person":

"I can't hate people for making judgment on me, or making a decision of liking me or not liking me. All I can do is try to better as a person. And I'm good with knowing everything isn't always going to be perfect."

"[People are] always gonna know me for situations and life obstacles."

He also opened up about winning a GRAMMY and described it as an incredibly "humbling" achievement: "For me to have that achievement and to go through people's whole opinions changing of me, to get personal opinion back and having to gain personal success back – it's not all the way back, you know – but it's been one of my most humbling experiences."
