Robbie Williams continues to voice support for The X-Factor’s Rylan

Robbie Williams has continued to voice his support for The X-Factor’s Rylan Clark.

The former Take That star tweeted that he was 'Team Rylan' last week, prompting Gary Barlow to joke “Twenty years of knowing each other and it’s all over in five letters.”

And during his one-to-one masterclass with the Essex singer, which is to be screened tonight, the 38-year-old says he can’t fathom why his old bandmate has such a grudge against Clark:

“Gaz, I don’t know what this young man has done to offend you so much.

“And I don’t understand how you are missing the obvious brilliance and talent of Rylan, but I am not. I am strictly Team Rylan all the way.”

Williams, who will perform his new single, 'Candy,' on tomorrow night’s results show, then encouraged Rylan to make the most of his opportunity:

“I am a big fan. You have got me in your corner now. I want to see you on TV an awful lot and I want to bump into you backstage at places and say, ‘Hey, how are you doing?’

"The world is your oyster right now and it’s going to be interesting to see just where you take it. Don’t f*** up.”
