Calvin Harris on course for No.1 album with '18 Months'

Scottish DJ and producer Calvin Harris has made a huge impact on the midweek albums chart update today (October 31) as his new record has debuted at the top spot.

'18 Months' entered this afternoon at No.1, forcing Kylie Minogue's newly released cut 'The Abbey Road Sessions' into the No.2 position. The Official Charts Company has confirmed that Harris is outselling Minogue by around 5,000 copies at this midway stage.

fun.'s sophomore album 'Some Nights' has climbed an impressive 29 places to No.4, Taylor Swift's 'Red' is down 4 to No.5, and Madness have made an appearance at No.6 with 'Oui Oui Si Si Ja Ja Da Da'. Matt Cardle's 'The Fire' has shot in at No.7, Peter Andre has a new entry at 14 with his new offering 'Angels And Demons', and Ellie Goulding's 'Halcyon' has dropped 16 positions to No.35.

Meanwhile, Calvin Harris' latest single 'Sweet Nothing' recently shot in at No.1 and managed to hold off tough competition from the likes of Psy's 'Gangnam Style' and Rihanna's new cut, 'Diamonds'.
