Owl City's Adam Young on Taylor Swift crush: "I don't want to force anything but I'm around"

Adam Young of Owl City has opened up about the problems he faced as a teen trying to find a date to his prom in relation to his popularity now and having a song written about him by Taylor Swift.

Speaking to Blunt Talking, Young revealed that he never found the right girl to take to his prom, but the tables turned as he got older because female attention has increased and country-pop sensation Swift even penned a track named 'Enchanted' about him:

"It's crazy, I definitely couldn't get a date for the prom both years in high school. I guess I didn't really go around trying to hard, but I was weighing my options and between the girls I was interested in... they weren't interested in me and those who I maybe could have gone with... maybe going to stay at home and make music!"

"Fast forward a few years and buying the last Taylor record and hearing the song written about me ('Enchanted'), it's very humbling. It's cool to know that an artist such as Taylor who's very open about the fact that she writes songs in order to deal with her life and to be a part of that is a very cool thing. It's a very sweet song and I'm honoured."

When asked if he was aware that she's currently single, the 'Fireflies' hitmaker joked: "She’s got a lot of people at her doorstep; I just try and stay off the radar… I don’t wanna force anything, but I’m around."
