Calvin Harris' '18 months' officially confirmed No. 1 album

Calvin Harris' '18 Months' has been officially announced as the UK's No. 1 album.

Earlier today, the Scottish DJ and producer took to his Twitter page to thank his fans for their support before the Top 40 albums were formally publicised this evening.

Harris - who was sitting at No.1 in the album charts midweek - has beaten Kylie Minogue to the top spot, pushing the Australian singer's 'The Abbey Road Sessions' into the No.2 position.

Triple MOBO Award winner Emeli Sandé's 'Our Version Of Events' dropped one place to No. 3, while Taylor Swift's 'Red' also moved down four places to No.5.

The country songstress was riding high last week, after scoring her first UK No. 1 album.

fun.'s sophomore album 'Some Nights' climbed an impressive 29 places to No.4, while Mumford & Sons' 'Babel' slipped two places to No. 7.

Elsewhere, Matt Cardle's new record 'The Fire' came into the charts at No. 8, while Jake Bugg (No. 11) and Muse's (No. 12) offerings fell eight and four places respectively.
