Mick Jagger defends pricey concert tickets

The Rolling Stones flamboyant front man has spoken out over the uproar surrounding ticket prices for their forthcoming shows in the UK and America.

Jagger has insisted in a recent interview with Billboard that tickets are pricey because of the band's concerts being so "expensive to put on".

Tickets for the London shows at the O2 Arena at the end of the month range from £90 to the VIP package priced at £950. This has left fans furious as they cannot afford to see the legendary rockers.

The singer stated, "well, it's a very expensive show to put on, just to do four shows, because normally you do a hundred shows and you'd have the same expenses.”

"So, yes, it's expensive," Jagger added. "But most of the tickets go for a higher price than we've sold them for, so you can see the market is there."

The Rolling Stones have recently unveiled a new track 'One More Shot' from their greatest hits compilation album titled ‘GRRR!’

'Grrr!' is due out on November 12.
