'Call Me Maybe' hitmaker Carly Rae Jepsen has revealed that she is a huge fan of pop songstress Katy Perry and she was especially 'taken' with her after they first met.

The Canadian singer told Billboard before last night's American Music Awards that she's looking forward to spending time with Perry at the Women In Music Event in New York:

"I immediately took to her when I met her the first time. Before that I'd been a fan of her music for years, so it's gonna be a special day that we get to share together."

Jepsen will collect the Rising Star award at the Manhattan-based ceremony on November 30 while Perry is set to receive the Woman of the Year prize.

Last night (November 19), Jepsen won the New Artist of the Year title at the 2012 American Music Awards.
