Sophie Ellis-Bextor: "Grohl is cool fan"

British songstress Sophie Ellis-Bextor won't forget the "cool moment" Dave Grohl told her he was a fan of her music.

The 'Take Me Home' singer has recently taken time out to concentrate on family life with her husband The Feeling's Richard Jones and their three sons, and is currently working on her fifth studio album.

Ellis-Bextor has revealed how she was taken aback by the most unexpected fan of her songs.

She told the Metro: "Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters. We were at a party a year ago and a lot of boys were looking over at him and he came up to me and said: ‘You’ve got no idea how often we play your music in our house,’ and these boys looked on with a mixture of confusion and awe. It was a cool moment!"

Ellis-Bextor also revealed the most unusual gigs she's ever done, and insists she isn't a "snob" when it comes to accepting jobs.

"I’ve done a couple of quite small gatherings, which I found peculiar at first. It’s not too different to playing for a big crowd.  They can be just as rewarding. You still have the pressure to get them on the dance floor.

She added: "I’m an entertainer, so you’ll find yourself doing birthdays or weddings – but I don’t know any musicians who don’t do that. You take whatever comes your way and I’m no snob. As long as  people are having fun, I’ll do it."
