Matt Cardle: "One Direction are easily marketable"

X Factor champion Matt Cardle says One Direction are "easily marketable" as they are such a good pop act.

The singer won the seventh series of hit TV talent show The X Factor and received a £1 million recording contract with Syco Music. However Cardle parted ways with Syco and signed with So Recordings this year.

Rumours circulated that his decision to leave was based on the fact that the label was focusing more time on promoting chart sensations One Direction.

Cardle revealed to Music News: "It’s not really for me to say. What I will say is Syco does pop so brilliantly. And it’s very easy to market a boy band as good as One Direction, so it’s natural and right for them to want to do that. My reasons were really based more on me wanting to take more control and be involved in the entire music process.

Cardle has a broad music taste and have revealed what he has on his playlist at the moment.

He confessed: "Oh all sorts. I’ve got some Rihanna, a lot of Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam and Kate Bush. A real mix, I know."

Cardle's second album 'The Fire' was released on October 29.
