Jesy Nelson: "Nicola Roberts is Girls Aloud star"

Little Mix's Jesy Nelson has labelled Nicola Roberts "the little dark horse" of chart-topping Girls Aloud.

The singer/songwriter penned 'Going Nowhere' for Little Mix's debut album DNA.

Nelson - who said working with Roberts on the track was "absolutely amazing" - told PopJustice: "She’s so lovely. That’s one of our favourite songs on the album, so we were really lucky to have worked with her.

Nelson added: "I was really surprised, ’cause I didn’t know she wrote songs. I wasn’t aware. And then when she wrote ‘Going Nowhere’ for us, it was literally one of our favourite songs and we absolutely love it. She’s like the little dark horse of Girls Aloud, she’s so talented."

Nelson is proud of Little Mix's debut offering, adding that all the songs are worthy of hit single status.

Explaining that she wouldn't "press the skip button" if she was listening from an outside point of view, the star said: "No. Definitely not. And I’m not even lying. That’s one thing that we wanted to have on our album – like, I hate it when you buy an album and there’s a few good songs and then you’ll skip loads of other ’cause you don’t like them.

"We wanted to make sure that every song could be a single."
