Dubstep star Skrillex to release video game

Hitmaker Skrillex is due to launch his very own video game, in which he even makes a cameo.

The 'Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites' DJ and producer teamed up with developer Jason Oda to create Skrillex Quest, which is set to his own music, and will see a character save the world from evil glitches.

Oda posted a message to his official Facebook page (November 28) about the lengthy project and explained the concept behind it:

"Remember blowing the dust out of your NES cartridges when they glitched? This game is all about that from the perspective of the people within the game."

He also told Mashable that it has since been completed and is ready to go: "Several months ago I was commissioned to make a game for Skrillex. It was a ton of work and a completely frustrating bulls**t-fest along the way but I am so happy to say that the game is finally, finally officially live!"

"I'm super proud of it and really hope you check it out. I really think it's the best game I've ever done... Skrillex's music sometimes sounds like a broken video game. It fit perfectly with my glitch idea, and I took inspiration from the few lyrics it does contain for content."
