Rihanna and David Guetta have been named as the most streamed artists on Spotify of the last year.

The Bajan beauty beat off competition from the likes of Nicki Minaj and Adele to become the queen of Spotify in 2012.

DJ Guetta meanwhile usurped Flo Rida and Eminem to become the most streamed male, whilst the Frenchman also nabbed the most streamed album title for his record 'Nothing But The Beat'.

Gotye's hit 'Somebody That I Used To Know' was named the most streamed song of 2012, narrowly beating Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Call Me Maybe'.

One Direction meanwhile managed to surpass the 100 million stream mark this year.
