Zayn Malik has revealed that he nearly started crying on one of his first flights with One Direction.

The singer told the Daily Star that he hadn't travelled in the air before joining the global superstars.

Bandmate Louis Tomlinson took advantage of that fact and joked that the plane would perform a terrifying loop manoeuvre - something which didn't sit too well with the Bradford singer.

He said: "I was terrified of flying when we started. Before the band I'd never been on a plane which was sad and depressing. One time we got up into the air and Louis turned to me and said: 'This is where the plane does the loop de loop'. I believed it, it was really scary. I was so gullible, I nearly cried."

Harry Styles, meanwhile, opened up on his somewhat embarrassing music tastes of days gone by. He said:

"I was obsessed with S Club Juniors when I was younger. It was when I was small and had a bowl haircut. I might do that again and bring it back..."

On Monday night (December 3) One Direction headlined New York's Madison Square Garden - something they later called the "best night of our lives".
