Owl City wants Ellie Goulding collaboration

Owl City maestro Adam Young has targeted Ellie Goulding for a future collaboration.

The upbeat popster enjoyed huge success with his recent team up with Carly Rae Jepsen, which gave birth to the 2012 hit 'Good Time'.

Asked by Billboard who he might like to work with next, Young chose Brit star Goulding and called the 'Anything Can Happen' singer "amazing".

Opening up meanwhile about material he is currently working on, the Owl City man said that his new tunes are developing a more "edgy" sound. He said:

"It's a little bit more edgy in a good way. It sort of hits a little bit harder. I'm really inspired by dance music, so there's lots of trance-inspired music. I listen to a lot of trance DJs from Europe."

Young continued: "It's very synth-heavy, obviously. It kind of grinds a little bit more in a cool way."

Owl City's previous album 'The Midsummer Station' was released in August this year.
