Jay-Z subway woman talks about meeting the superstar

Earlier this week, a video of rap sensation Jay-Z chatting with a woman on the New York City subway system emerged and subsequently went viral and the woman has now spoken out about the experience.

67-year-old Ellen Grossman, an artist from New York, told The Guardian that although she wasn't too familiar with the superstar she has since looked him up online and found herself impressed with his achievements and fame:

"We had such a nice conversation and then it became obvious during the conversation that he was very famous. When I went and looked at his website I found - of course he highlights his own work - but he just gave tremendous amount of space on it to other artists, collaborations with other people, to just highlighting other people and I appreciated that about him and had that feeling that he was giving me attention in the same way. It was a very positive experience."

Grossman added that she felt "energised" after their 20-minute conversation on the train and said he was a wonderful man: "He's very real. He didn't seem disturbed that I didn't understand who he was - he's not full of himself."
