James Blunt opens restaurant in Switzerland

Singer-songwriter James Blunt has embraced his inner entrepreneur and opened an eatery at a ski resort in the Swiss town of Verbier.

The 'You're Beautiful' hitmaker explained that his experiences of staying at such places and of being surrounded by good food, family, friends and great times encouraged the business venture and restaurant, which has been named La Vache:

"Since there was snow, gifts, intimate celebrations with the family - it was simply the most wonderful time of the year. Everytime I have this feeling I think of Switzerland. It is a magical feeling. It has long been my dream to (have) a panoramic restaurant. I love skiing and good food."

The stunning restaurant (pictured below) officially opened earlier this week on December 8 and although Blunt won't be taking on a hands-on role in the kitchen, a pizza has been named after him.

He also has a residence permit for the area and owns a home there, and added that he would love to live there permanently: "Verbier is my home. Whenever I can, I'm in my chalet. I don't know if I've been here long enough and whether it would allow me at all, but if the authorities allow it, I'd love to be Swiss."
