Ed Sheeran suggests royal baby names

Ed Sheeran has offered his advice to parents-in-waiting Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The married couple revealed recently that Kate is pregnant, leading to a flurry of media attention and royal excitement.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Sheeran said that the happy couple should look beyond the norm when deciding on a baby name.

He cited the likes of "Ziggy" and "Twig" for possible names, choosing to go as "rock n' roll" as possible. The singer-songwriter said:

"I just think it's time for someone in the royal family to have a rock n' roll name for their kids. Call it Ziggy or Twig. This is the time, if there's ever a time to do it, it's now. I don't want there to be another name like Dave. But then Dave would be cool, wouldn't it?"

He added: "Call it Twig or Oak Tree or PSY, even PSYmon."

Bookmakers have started taking bets on what name the royal couple will pick, with the likes of Elizabeth, Diana and George among the favourites.
