Union J sign Sony record deal

Union J are the latest X Factor act to sign a record deal with Sony.

The group, who finished fourth on this year's series, have inked a deal with the label only days after fellow contestant Ella Henderson put pen to paper.

Speaking on Daybreak, Union J said that they are realising a "dream" by securing the record contract.

Singer Jaymi Hensley said: "It's amazing. It's been a crazy week. Obviously when we came out of the show the dream was to get a record deal and we're going to Sony today to sort out all the contracts and stuff. Before Christmas we will have our deal finalised."

It is reported that the boys said onstage in Cardiff on Saturday (December 15) that they plan on releasing an album in 2013.

Winner of X Factor 2012 James Arthur meanwhile is the other contestant from the series to have landed a record contract off the back of the show so far.
