Dave Grohl denies Nirvana tour speculation

Dave Grohl's rep has denied rumours that he is set to reunite Nirvana with a mystery frontman.

The band have been dormant since mainman Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994 but their remaining members have teamed up recently with Sir Paul McCartney.

They have worked together on a new song called 'Cut Me Some Slack' and instantly rumours were abound that the grunge icons might reunite, despite the quartet bypassing the Nirvana name.

Fresh speculation suggested that the group would tour with a new singer in the place of Beatle McCartney.

However, a spokesperson for Foo Fighters man Grohl has dismissed the reports as "nonsense".

The four musicians - Dave Grohl, Sir Paul McCartney, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear - recorded the track 'Cut Me Some Slack' for the soundtrack to new film Sound City, which is directed by Grohl.
