Emeli Sandé tops mid-week album chart

Today's midweek chart update (December 19) has put Emeli Sandé in the No.1 position ahead of the confirmed Christmas album champion on Sunday.

The Scottish star's  debut album 'Our Version Of Events' has climbed to the top spot, beating off stiff competition from Olly Murs, Michael Buble and Bruno Mars - who was riding high at No. 1 last week with 'Unorthodox Jukebox.'

One Direction's 'Take Me Home' is a non-mover at No.6, while Rod Stewart's festive 'Merry Christmas Baby' has dropped two places to No.7.

Rihanna's Unapologetic is down one place to No. 8 after five weeks in the chart, while Robbie Williams and P!nk's offerings are non-movers in ninth and tenth place respectively.

Calvin Harris' successful '18 Months' has dropped into twelfth place, while Little Mix's debut album 'DNA' is down three places to No. 17.
