Alexandra Burke has given fans an early Christmas present with a festive themed EP.

The singer has released 'Christmas Gift', which features a version of the song 'Silent Night' and also 'Christmas Time'.

It is free to download from Burke's official Soundcloud page.

The X Factor star meanwhile tweeted on Saturday (December 22) a message of loss regarding the late Whitney Houston, who died in February. She said:

"I miss you Whitney. So much."

As previously reported, Burke hinted earlier this year that she could be set to release a new album in 2013.

The vocal star only brought out previous effort 'Heartbreak On Hold' in June but a tweet suggested she was due to usher in a "new era and a new album" next year.
