Rare photos from The Beatles' '64 U.S. tour up for auction

A collection of 65 unpublished colour photographs from the Fab Four's 1964 tour of America will go under the hammer later this spring.

The BBC reports that the picture set, which was taken by physicist Dr Robert Beck, is set to go up for auction on March 22 in Stockport, Cheshire through Omega Auctions and the photos will be sold with their copyright. They are expected to fetch between £10,000 and £15,000.

The snaps include shots taken at the Las Vegas Sahara Hotel press conference, photos from a Beverly Hills mansion party held by former Capitol Records president Alan Livingston, and live pictures taken at The Beatles' Las Vegas Convention Centre concert.

Last month, a leather jacket belonging to the late George Harrison was sold for an impressive £110,000 at auction.
