Adam Lambert 'parts ways with record company'

Adam Lambert has split from his deal with 19 Recordings.

The singer has been signed to the company since appearing on American Idol in 2009, where he finished runner-up.

Lambert left 19 Management in August 2011 but was kept on the roster of their recordings arm.

Billboard reports, however, that a rep for the vocal powerhouse has confirmed that he has now quit the contract.

The spokesperson said that they split "amicably and with the utmost respect for each other", with the parting ways the next step in Lambert's "evolution".

He is still said to be signed to RCA, however, who act as the singer's parent label.

The singer seemingly echoed the rep's last statement on Twitter recently, proclaiming that his next album will be a "brand new exploration".

He is set to work on the follow-up to 2012's 'Trespassing' this coming year.
