Joey Essex has called The Wanted "annoying" and has revealed that he prefers One Direction.

The Only Way Is Essex star was asked by We Love Pop about which boyband he would rather join if he got the chance.

Essex replied:

"Definitely One Direction. Swerve The Wanted. They're just annoying, man."

He then revealed that he used to fail to see "eye-to-eye" with a member of The Wanted after coming in contact with him by association. Essex said:

"Years ago when I used to go out with Pixie Lott around Essex, one of her friends used to go out with one of The Wanted and we didn't really see eye-to-eye. That's all I'm saying."
