Taylor Swift reveals why she's never had a long-term relationship

Superstar Taylor Swift has been in the press a lot lately over her love life and dating experiences, but she has revealed why it's especially hard for her to enjoy a long-term romance.

Speaking to Vibe magazine, the 'I Knew You Were Trouble' songstress explained that she likes her independence and values solitude, which can make being open and sharing everything in a relationship difficult for her:

"Independence is something I’ve always needed, from when I was young. It’s an interesting part of my personality: Part of me just wants to be alone. Sagittarians are really independent, and we like our space. We’re drawn to love but battle for that need for independence."

Swift, who most recently was linked with One Direction's Harry Styles and Conor Kennedy, added that she understands relationships need to be constantly worked on in order for them to succeed and she hopes she can achieve a solid union in the future:

"I just know that if you’re not careful with things they can go away. I’ve seen people with careers that were great until they started taking them for granted. And I’m scared of that. But I love the idea of romance and falling in love. I’ve never really had a long relationship. So that’s something I think about for the future.”
