Paloma Faith: 'It's great that Amy Winehouse is up for a BRIT Award'

Quirky songstress Paloma Faith has opened up about the 2013 BRIT Awards and revealed that she's happy to see the late Amy Winehouse in the nominees list.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, the 'Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful?' star explained that Winehouse's nomination for Best Female is fantastic because she gave so much to British music and is still so important:

"It’s wonderful to acknowledge what she contributed to British music. But I’d be interested to know what she thought of the album (Lioness: Hidden Treasures) because it was unreleased music. I know from personal experience that the reason I don’t release certain songs is because I don’t think it’s the best stuff I’ve done.

"I do think it’s really important that she’s in that category, though."

When asked about her own nominations, which are for Best Female and Best Album, Faith was modest although she explained that winning Best Album would be a dream come true:

"Best Album — although I’m not expecting to win any. I’m a realist."
