Inauguration official confirms Beyoncé did not sing live

An official from the recent inauguration ceremony has confirmed that Beyoncé did not perform the American national anthem live during the event.

Speculation has been rife since the ceremony took place on Monday, January 21, after a spokesperson from the U.S. Marine Corps Band revealed to the press that the vocal superstar mimed to a backing track.

Yesterday (January 23), a team of sound production experts came forward and disputed the claims, giving evidence that supported the opposite side of the argument, but an anonymous inauguration official has now set the record straight.

Speaking to CNN, the person explained: "She did not sing live because she didn't have time to rehearse with the Marine Band. She decided to use her recording with the Marine Band. It was all Beyoncé."
