Liberty X star: 'I'd drink triple vodkas at 7am to get by'

Now that bands such as B*Witched, 5ive and Liberty X are set to reform for the upcoming ITV2 series 'The Big Reunion', they have started to open up about their experiences of fame.

Liberty X, who formed from successful contestants of the 2001 series of Popstars, feature in the show's first episode and member Kelli Young (31) explained that it was tough to deal with the criticism they faced during their peak:

“We worked so hard, but were called Flopstars and rejects."

Bandmate Kevin Simms added that he started drinking to cope with the pressure: “I’d drink triple vodkas at 7am, just so I could do silly things on Saturday morning kids TV.”

Life wasn't much better for 5ive, who are also included in 'The Big Reunion', and they recently confessed that two members suffered breakdowns as a result of their stressful lifestyle: "On stage we were the best ever, off stage we were a train wreck. Life in 5ive was mental. It was five years of very hard work. You see the inside of a hotel room, an airport, a radio studio, it's hard."
