Publicist Max Clifford on Zayn’s Supposed Cheating: “It's not like he beats Perrie or takes drugs”

Famed publicist Max Clifford has given his opinion on how the recent allegations that One Direction's Zayn Malik supposedly cheated on Little Mix's Perrie Edwards might impact the heartthrob's career.

Last month, an Australian waitress named Courtney Webb told The Sun that she spent a night of passion with the 'What Makes You Beautiful' hunk after he convinced her he was a single man. Her claim hasn't been confirmed, but she backed it up with photographs of the One Direction hitmaker sleeping naked in bed.

Speaking about the scandal, Clifford told Heat magazine that people won't see Malik any differently and it's not a real problem or threat to his journey as a singer:

"Everyone is told that a lot of girls will target you because they want to make money out of you. This is not going to affect Zayn's popularity or the group's popularity at all. This is not a crisis in Simon's eyes. If Zayn was seen to be beating up girls, or if it was drugs, that would be very problematic."

"But if these allegations are true, it will cause no problem at all," he added confidently.
