One Direction and Jessie J to star in Beano comic

Music stars such as One Direction and Jessie J have been immortalised in cartoon form for a special Comic Relief issue of the Beano.

The legendary British comic is teaming up with the charity ahead of Red Nose Day, which is taking place on March 15.

One Direction are set to feature in a special issue of monthly spin-off BeanoMax as a teacher falls foul of their charming good looks, whilst Jessie J is seen singing with Minnie the Minx.

Olly Murs is also set to feature in the comic, as well as the likes of Scottish actor David Tennant.

In a statement, One Direction said: "We've grown up with the magazine so now to actually appear in it with Dennis and Gnasher themselves is incredible."

Speaking about the issue, editor-in-chief of the Beano and BeanoMax Mike Stirling said: "It was brilliant fun imagining how Jessie, Olly, David and 1D would interact with our mischievous characters and I hope they enjoy the results as much our readers and their fans will."
