Bobby Brown sentenced to 55 days in jail for drunk driving

The ex-husband of the late Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown, has been sentenced to 55 days in jail following his arrest last year for driving under the influence of alcohol.

On October 24, 2012, Brown was pulled over and failed both a field sobriety and breathalyzer test. He later entered a 'not guilty' plea for what was his second DUI charge of the year.

In addition to his new prison sentence, the singer has been put on 4 and a half years of informal probation and was ordered to complete a year and a half long alcohol treatment course.

Brown will also pay $800 in fines and his car will be fitted with a breathalyzer-type device in order to monitor his blood alcohol levels when he's driving.
