Amy Winehouse, Madness and The Who to be honoured on planned London walk of fame

A walk of fame, complete with stars on the pavement, will be unveiled in North London later this year.

Camden, which is home to many musicians along with well-loved live music videos, is set to be the host for the strip and will twin with Hollywood to honour some of the UK and the world's most popular acts.

30 plaques are confirmed to be laid down and some of the first honourees will include the late Amy Winehouse, The Who and Madness.

The NME reports that acts who will be represented on the walkway are due to be grouped into the following categories: "innovative artists, influential artists, icons, unsung heroes and industry figures."

Lee Bennett, from The Walk Of Fame, told the BBC News that it's a fantastic idea to openly celebrate music in England's capital: "We hope this will be the highest accolade in music. This is an international brand not specific to Camden, but it is in Camden as we truly see it as the world's rock and roll capital."
