TV's Yvette Fielding was left reeling after a magazine article claimed she was sent flirty texts by Harry Styles, according to her husband.

An interview with the Most Haunted host appeared in Woman magazine recently in which Fielding was said to have claimed the One Direction singer sent her inappropriate and "disgusting" text messages whilst eating together at a restaurant.

It was immediately denied by Styles' spokesman and later by Fielding in a statement, who said it was just a load of "rubbish".

Speaking to the Sun, Fielding's husband Karl Beattie said that his wife had phoned up Styles' mother to "clear the air" and clarify the remarks. He said:

"It is total rubbish. Yvette is very upset about it all - she called [Harry's mum] Anne this morning to explain what had happened."

He added: "Yvette is too upset at the moment to talk."

Fielding was also on the receiving end of some abuse from One Direction fans on Twitter after the initial story broke.
