Rod Stewart warns One Direction: "You can't party like we used to"

Rod Stewart believes One Direction couldn't get away with the same antics he used to get up to.

The veteran singer, who revealed last year that he used to take cocaine anally, is known for some rock 'n roll debauchery.

Stewart is quoted by The Sun as saying that times have changed and acts like One Direction have to be careful.

However, he recommends that the pop group gets a good legal team behind them to deal with any potential future issues. The singer said:

"We did what we wanted. But it's not like that now. I'd recommend a good lawyer and good people to look after them."

Stewart continued: "They will last like me, like Mick Jagger, like Elton John, if they have fire in their bellies."

Rod Stewart meanwhile is due to release his new album 'Time' in early May.
