Britpop bands hit back after Robbie Williams jibe

A number of 90s Britpop bands have responded after Robbie Williams slagged them off.

As previously reported, the Take That man provoked controversy recently by suggesting 90s indie and Britpop bands weren't as good as some make out.

He said that whilst there were some good bands out there, there were a lot of duds - before listing a plethora of offending acts.

A number of the Britpop bands have now responded, with Menswear's Johnny Dean tweeting: "Shut up Robbie! You were perfectly happy taking 'refreshments' on my tour bus at T In The Park '95!"

Mark Morriss from the Bluetones meanwhile said: "Girls Aloud decide to quit the biz, and @robbiewilliams says I only ever had one good song...has to be the worst Thursday ever."
