Girls Aloud's record label deny involvement in their split

UK pop group Girls Aloud recently split following the final date of their reunion tour, but their record label has now told fans that they had nothing to do with the decision.

Girls Aloud fans accused Polydor of dropping the 'Sound of the Underground' beauties from their label, but a spokesperson for the company has now confirmed via Twitter that their split was an independent move:

"So you all know @GirlsAloud’s announcement was their decision, nothing to do with us. We’re as sad as you, but we wish them all the best!"

After the singers announced that they would never perform together again, member Nadine Coyle took to her own Twitter page and explained that it wasn't what she wanted, adding that she even tried to convince them otherwise:

"You should know by now I had no part in any of this split business. I couldn't stop them. I had the best time & want to keep going. Xxxx"
