Rapper Gucci Mane was held in custody today (March 27) for a charge of aggravated assault with a weapon.

The hitmaker, who stars alongside Selena Gomez in 'Spring Breakers', reportedly hit a fan over the head with a champagne bottle in an Atlanta area club last week.

James Lettley of Fort Hood, Texas, who served time as a soldier in Afghanistan, told police that Mane cracked him over the skull with the glass bottle after he asked him to take a picture with him at Harlem Nights Club on March 16.

He said: "I was speaking to the security guard, and Gucci Mane hit me in the head with a bottle. And as I looked at him in the shock of why, one of his friends hit me in the side of my face. He could have possibly killed me. I just hope and pray that I recover pretty well because I still want to serve my military career."

An arrest warrant was subsequently issued for the rapper, whose real name is Radric Davis, and Fulton County Jail records show that he has since been arrested, and is now expected to appear in court.
