5ive: 'One Direction lads will be messed up from all the fame'

Newly reformed boyband 5ive have opened up the international success of One Direction and revealed that it won't always be smooth sailing for the young lads.

The 'Everybody Get Up' hitmakers, who got back together for ITV's Big Reunion show, explained to Digital Spy that fame at such an overwhelming level can really impact the lives of people in their teens and early twenties, and they expect the members will suffer at the hands of it in the future:

"It's always a bit of a psychological experiement - throw in a bunch of people that don't know each other that well into the mixing pot of everything that happens, plus being together all the time. I hope the industry is learning... people need days off!"

"They're a great band, they've got a great A&R manager. But with One Direction, you know, they're little kids. When they go to bed at night, there's no way the phenomenon isn't messing with their heads. No way. They need protection."

5ive also recently explained that they doubt One Direction would be as popular if social media wasn't as prevalent today: "We didn't have social media back in the day, we didn't have Twitter, Facebook, web chats, nothing - we just turned up to places. Where as now you can be in a room straight away with just one tweet."
